"Charmaine
is a knowledgeable, hard working, dedicated doer. She has knowledge
of being a good teacher, with a great business mind, a personal
touch and a smiling even attitude; she respects dance and is respected
by her peers. She can create schools and companies with tremendous
ease."
~Jean
Paul Comelin,

" I
appreciated that you chose to give clear, uncluttered combinations
that allowed a focus on and discussion of technical theory.
Often Master Classes seem designed to impress rather than empower,
yours did the latter!"
~Robin Pettersen,
Dance Program Coordinator, UW Whitewater Dance
Department

"I enjoyed your sense of freedom, yet you gave challenging
classes. Overall, I think you allowed for each person's own identity
to
exist within the structure of ballet. Critical to generating good
dancers!"
~Jula Gleich,
Head of choreography at London Studio Centre

"My daughter is 11 and has taken ballet since she was 5; however, she just started in Charmaine's program last Fall and the difference has been amazing.
My daughter has learned so much in this last year, not only in her actual dance, but in her attitude and her respect for ballet too. She was given the opportunity to be in the Nutcracker last December, which turned out to be a wonderful experience.
When I asked her what she would say about Miss Charmaine, she said, "She is so kind and supportive. She really believes I'm a ballerina."
Charmaine is serious when she needs to be, and kind and merciful when it is appropriate. I've really grown to love her and her ability to bring the best out of all of her students."

"I have known Charmaine Ristow as a friend and colleague in professional dance for almost 40 years, since we were at the U.W. Dance Department - Madison, and also in a professional dance company together.
Charmaine is a ballet teacher of the highest integrity and caliber that you could wish for. Her training and performing experience has been extensive locally, regionally and internationally. She is trained in the traditional Russian style of ballet; however, she has had broad experience with many styles and diverse influences.
Her classes are very well prepared and executed. She is clear in what she teaches and presents all the movement with enthusiasm, and energy, and fun! She has a passion for safe and healthy technique; and especially for young students, will ensure that they learn correctly, in a fun and happy way. She adores children and they adore her! She is great with kids!
Hometown Dance & Fitness is a beautifully, professionally prepared space appropriate for students of all ages and levels of dance interest.
